Nick Wood is the former press secretary and media director to Conservative party leaders William Hague and Iain Duncan Smith. He has a distinguished career in political journalism having written for national newspapers, including The Times and the Daily Express. During his time with the Conservative Party he played a pivotal role in the victory in the 1999 European elections and was at the heart of the 2001 general election campaign. He was responsible for conducting daily press briefings for five years and was consulted by party leaders and Shadow Cabinet members on all critical media, policy and presentational matters.
