William Walter is the Managing Director of Bridgehead Communications. He has over 15 years’ experience in media and consultancy. He is an expert in corporate communications, education, and social care.
He began his career in Parliament where he worked as an aide and speechwriter to three MPs, including the then Shadow Minister for Universities & Skills, Rt Hon David Willetts MP, and the then Shadow Pensions Minister, Nigel Waterson MP.
Corporate
A former media advisor to the Governments of Georgia and Lithuania, he has also worked for individuals, family offices and FTSE 100 companies, including HSBC and Reckitt Benckiser whom he advised on their corporate communications.
Education and Skills
His work with the then Shadow Minister for Universities & Skills marked the start of his deep interest and passion for the education and skills sector. In 2014 he co-authored a landmark study into the earnings and employment opportunities of graduates compared to those of apprenticeships. The findings were widely reported in the national media. He has since advised a host of schools, sixth form colleges, further education colleges, and independent training providers on their political and media outreach.
Social Care
As a former adviser to the Shadow Minister for Older People, Nigel Waterson MP, and as a regular columnist for leading sector trade publication, Caring Times, William has a detailed knowledge and understanding of the adult social care sector. He advises some of the country's leading care providers and their suppliers on their political and media engagement.
Ellis is a Senior Political and Media Consultant at Bridgehead Communications. He is a Politics and International Relations graduate from University College London (UCL) where his dissertation on democratic backsliding in Europe is currently being peer reviewed for publication. He brings a solid academic background to the team and a range of experiences, including event coordination and experience in the adult social care sector.
Natty Croucher is a Political and Media Consultant at Bridgehead Communications. A first-class History graduate of the University of Bristol, where he specialised in Bristol’s Tudor maritime history, Natty spent several months as a volunteer policy caseworker and research assistant in the office his local MP before joining Bridgehead. Natty also has previous editorial experience and brings a range of knowledge and expertise to the team.
Tom Zundel is a Political and Media Consultant at Bridgehead Communications. He is a first-class Economics, Politics, and International Studies graduate from the University of Warwick, where he examined the evolution of UK housing policy over the past four decades as part of his dissertation. Tom also gained editorial experience as a journalist at university and thereafter, providing a unique range of experiences and knowledge to the team.
Dr Sheel Mehta provides strategic counsel to our health and social care clients. She is a Clinical Oncology Consultant specialising in the treatment of uro-oncological cancers. She trained in medicine at University College London and undertook a placement at Harvard University. Following further clinical training in London and Surrey she was appointed as a substantive NHS consultant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in 2021.
Elaine Thomas is a consultant, media adviser and trainer with specialist expertise in radio and television broadcast. Her long career at the BBC has seen her produce documentaries for the Money Programme; for the BBC 2 series, Family Matters, and for other news and current affairs programmes, including BBC 2’s Newsnight and BBC News. For the last thirteen years of her time at the BBC she edited the World Service’s long-running weekly long-running show, “Politics UK”.
Adrian Pepper is a campaign strategist and pollster who advises leading businesses, politicians and news organisations across the world. He has seen British and EU politics from every angle, including as a Ministerial Special Adviser in Whitehall and to a Party Group Leader in the European Parliament. Adrian specialises in running multi-pronged communications campaigns for companies targeted at media, investors, consumers, NGOs, regulators and politicians.
Fraser Whieldon provides senior counsel to Bridgehead Communications. He offers five years’ experience as a journalist, most recently for a top-flight further education and skills newspaper and website where he produced lightning-fast news and analysis of government announcements and extensively covered a range of stakeholders, from multi-million-pound college corporations to small training businesses.
