About this Report

The UK care-technology sector is growing rapidly, driven by demographic pressure, workforce shortages, and increasing regulatory scrutiny. This inaugural CareTech Map brings together 50 companies operating across the UK adult social care technology landscape, mapped into seven functional categories.

From supported living and care home management platforms to telecare, compliance tooling, and family carer apps, the market is fragmenting into specialist niches — while a handful of platforms compete for horizontal coverage. This report is designed to help care providers, commissioners, and investors navigate the landscape.

Companies were identified through desk research, sector events, and provider interviews conducted between January and August 2024. Categories reflect functional use cases rather than vendor positioning.

The family carer segment is nascent but growing — driven by rising unpaid carer numbers (estimated at 10.6 million in England and Wales) and increasing employer awareness of carer responsibilities. Platforms including KareHero, Kin, mobilise, Seniorcare by Lottie, and Yurtle each address distinct dimensions of the family carer market.

Key Findings

Platform consolidation is accelerating — several vendors (access, Cera, nourish, oneAdvanced) now span three or more functional categories, competing for horizontal coverage across the care pathway.

Telecare and remote monitoring are converging with home care management as sensor technology matures and NHS integration deepens.

Compliance tooling is a growth segment. Increased CQC inspection frequency and the move to provider portals are driving investment in audit-ready digital infrastructure.

The self-funder matching market remains fragmented. No dominant platform has emerged — creating opportunity for consolidation or a well-capitalised challenger.

Family carer support is under-served relative to scale. 10.6 million unpaid carers in England and Wales remain largely outside the digital care economy.
